BRUNCH – South of Beale
361 South Main
Memphis, TN 38103

The past month or two has been a busy for me and my friends. Out of town trips, hectic work schedules, overtime, and other obligations of in demand professionals prohibited us from having our weekly brunches so you can imagine how excited we were to finally be reunited by way of brunch at South of Beale.  Believe it or not this was the first time any us of dined at this downtown gastropub.  As always there were several menu items that piqued my interest. Some did not adhere to my rather nascent meat-less ways, like the Stuffed Bell Peppers, and others I decided against simply because I’m attempting to save money which means no more ordering everything on the menu. *sigh truly sad yet necessary.   I ended up ordering the Fried Green Tomato Benedict with a side of home fries. Luckily one of my friends ordered the French Toast, and couple other brunchers ordered the Stuffed Bell Peppers.  Another brunch member had the Burger and although I failed to take a pic please trust me when I say it looked absolutely mouth -watering.

My Benedict was too cute! The fried green tomatoes were tastily tart and tangy. The poached eggs, as beautiful as they looked, were unfortunately over cooked. *insert sad face* Despite that the benedict was still yummy. The French toast was especially delicious. A small taste of this chewy, crisp, sweet breakfast favorite was all I needed to convince me that this will be my order when I return. I imagine that I’ll be back at South of Beale very soon; $3 mimosas with $12 bottle service is beckoning me!

Fried Green Tomato Benedict $10
French Toast $8
Stuffed Bell Pepper $9
