I really do enjoy Amerigo’s. I had never been for lunch but I am quite familiar with their dinner menu. I usually get the three cheese tortellini with jumbo lump crabmeat, which is so delicious. On this occasion, though, I met a friend there for lunch. We quickly found that Amerigo’s is a popular lunch destination. After all, it is in a prime location and you can’t beat the prices. The majority of the items on the lunch menu were between $8-$11 with only a couple items priced higher. I was tempted to try the cedar wood roasted fish with blended Asiago cheese leek potatoes and vegetables. While we were waiting on our table we spied this dish being taken from the brick oven and it looked and smelled tantalizing. However, I decided to go with the Pasta and Salad combo because I wanted to try the Cheese Fritters and I figured the Pasta and Salad alone wouldn’t fill me up. I was so glad that I did. The cheese fritters were a chewy, cheese-y delight with an excellent crispy, flavorsome batter. They come with both honey mustard and marinara dipping sauces, and I could not decide which one I liked best. They both added a unique and distinct taste to the already yummy Cheese Fritters. For my lunch entrée I ordered the Pasta Pomodoro and Caesar Salad. The Pasta Pomodoro was clean, light, and very flavorful. My lunch companion ordered Lasagna, and it looked so tempting. Times like those I wish I ate meat. It smelled absolutely delicious and my friend confirmed that it indeed was. Amerigo’s may not be the best choice for a quick lunch (at least not later in the week) but if you have the time it is definitely a top pick for a delicious and satisfying meal.
